HOW DO THE TA's PREPARE FOR THE CLASSROOM/YOUTH GROUP SESSION?
The TA Retreat gives a broad range of education in many of the issues the TA's will be talking about in the classrooms and life. At our meetings we spend time in team building, preparing for the classroom sessions and just having fun! We have a variety of material to choose from to form our sessions. It is our goal to have the latest information in facts and statistics to share with the community. A packet of information is given out at the session to help walk the groups through the facts and prompt discussion within the small groups.
WHAT DO I GET OUT OF THIS PROGRAM?
By joining the Teen Advisors you become a part of the accepting support group that provides guidance and love. Most of all you will feel an amazing satisfaction from changing the lives of your peers. I guarantee you will be changed too!
DOES THE TEEN ADVISOR PROGRAM REALLY MAKE A DIFFERENCE?
Yes, yes, yes! These are youth working with youth. It uses the powerful tool of peer pressure in a positive way. The responses we get from teens that see the Teen Advisors is always positive. The encouragement they get from seeing their own peers take a stand on some hard issues gives them the courage to do the same.

We are always looking for young people who want to have a positive impact in their schools and youth groups. If you are interested in checking out what TA's are all about, come hang out with us for the summer and see if it's something you would like to do.
WHERE DID TEEN ADVISORS COME FROM?
The Teen Advisor Program originated in Georgia in 1987. There have been many branches of the program and we are just one of the many here in Colorado.
WHAT ARE TEEN ADVISORS?
Teen Advisors are youth who are committed to abstaining from premarital sex, drugs, alcohol and tobacco. They are teens that have a desire to share with their peers the benefits of abstaining from high-risk behaviors. Most Teen Advisors are involved in their church or youth group and have a relationship with Christ.
WHAT DO TEEN ADVISORS DO?
Teen Advisors take the facts of high-risk behaviors to their schools and youth groups by presenting dramas and spending time in small groups.
WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS AND COMMITMENT TO BE A TEEN ADVISOR?
You must be at least a sophomore, junior, senior or college student to be a teen advisor. We start the year off with a training retreat in the fall. This is a great weekend of training to prepare for the year. TA's attend meetings held every other week to work on and plan new dramas and keep up on the newest facts. The TA's are accountable to each other as a group and from close relationships with one another.
